‘Evolving veterinary education for a safer world’ was the name of a global conference held by the OIE from12 to 14 October in Paris.

More than 400 Deans, Directors of veterinary training institutions, key national veterinary education policy makers and Representatives of the various direct beneficiaries of animal health and animal welfare activities, attended the meeting.  During the conference various speakers tried to illustrate the importance of good veterinary education in order to prevent and control diseases over the entire planet. Everybody agreed on a minimum curriculum for all veterinarians worldwide. Jan Vaarten spoke on behalf of the FVE about the veterinary training and licensing in the European Union (complete speech).
