Non-commercial movement of pet animals





The European Parliament has voted 618 votes to 17
for an extension to transitional arrangements of the Reg. 998/2003





On Tuesday 09 March The European Parliament has voted in favour to an extension to the transitional arrangements contained in the regulation on the non-commercial movement of pet
animals (Reg. 998/2003) which allow certain EU member States
additional  measures  against rabies, ticks and tapeworms.  The current
exemption made for  five Member States to  impose  stricter anti-disease
measures for animals entering their country will be extended for
another 1.5 years.
