Conference “Food for the 21st century”



“Food for the 21st century” was the title of the conference, organised
on 8th July by the European Commission DG Research at the European
Parliament.



The main objective of the event was the presentation of the results of the study "Assessing the overall impact of Priority 5-Food Quality and Safety under FP6". Closing the event, Eric Poudelet, Director of DG Sanco, spoke about “the needs in food research” and called for all to look into new technologies in food area (nanotechnology, GMOs) and the potential benefits of their implementation. D. Iatridou attended the conference as FVE representative.
