Brussels, 4 December 2025 – The Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking half a century of dedication to animal health, public health, welfare, and environmental sustainability.
In 2025, its sections also marked key anniversaries:
- UEVP: 55 years
- EASVO: 45 years
- EVERI: 20 years
- UEVH: 59 years
To honor these remarkable milestones, a special Anniversary Symposium was held in Brussels, bringing together European decision-makers, stakeholders, and leading voices from across the veterinary profession.
The event featured high-level presentations from distinguished representatives, including Montserrat Arroyo, Deputy Director General of International Standards and Science at the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), and Patricia Reilly, Member of President von der Leyen’s Cabinet.
Two inspiring panel discussions reflected on 50 years of progress while exploring the future of the veterinary profession.
The ceremony of the 2025 Great Veterinary Workplace Awards celebrated excellence, wellbeing, and inclusiveness in veterinary workplaces, highlighting the profession’s commitment not only to animals but also to those who care for them.
As the Federation marked its anniversary, attendees celebrated 50 years of care, collaboration, and compassion, while looking forward to continuing the shared journey toward a healthier, more sustainable future for animals, people, and the planet.
