Job Description

Veterinary Project Officer

Brussels

Contract: full-time contract

Experience: Graduated with at least 3-year work experience

Role: We are searching for a new colleague to join our nice team to support us with the specific projects and dossiers FVE is involved with. These include projects with activities around antimicrobial resistance (following the One Health Approach), preventive veterinary medicines, mental well-being and DEI, and others.

Tasks foreseen:

 Ability to follow a specific project from start to finish and track progress
 Support multi-stakeholder working group with secretarial duties
 Assist in the preparation of meetings, webinars and conferences
 Assist the team with desk research, information gathering and analysis, drafting of policies, presentations, etc
 Participating in discussions, working groups and committees in the field of EU veterinary matters
 Support FVE’s communication efforts (e.g. website, social media, newsletters) and assist with website maintenance

Profile:

 Eligible and willing to live and work in Brussels, Belgium
 Preferably a veterinary degree from an ESEVT accredited veterinary school
 Have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Mastery of another EU language is a strong plus;
 Interest in veterinary issues such as animal welfare, public health and One Health developments and mental well-being and DEI;
 Ability to turn complex, technical information into concise, simple messages;
 Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills;
 Robust drafting abilities;
 Positive and problem-solving attitude;
 Team player, proactively offering help and new ideas to team members;
 Strong computer and media skills (MS office software, WordPress, Desktop publishing software, etc).
 Work experience in a veterinary organisation or veterinary policy-making or the field of veterinary medicines, antimicrobial stewardship and AMR would be a plus;
