The Group of Chief Scientific Advisors is about to be renewed for its next mandate to provide high-quality, timely and independent scientific advice to the College of European Commissioners on any subject. By informing decision-making, the Group contributes to the quality of EU policy making and legislation. Recent topics were Cross-sectoral evidence-based governance for One Health in the EU, Towards sustainable food consumption and Strategic crisis management in the EU.

The advisors work closely with the Scientific Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA) consortium, which gathers expertise in engineering, humanities, medicine, natural and social sciences from over 100 academies and societies across Europe. Public European science and research organisations are now invited to nominate outstanding scientists as candidates for the renewal of this short-list. Read all criteria HERE. As currently, the group has no veterinarians, maybe this is the time to change this! If you consider proposing a scientist for membership of the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors, please contact info@fve.org before 15th September.
