EU-JAMRAI 2, the second edition of the European Joint Action on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections, aims to transform global strategies for tackling antimicrobial resistance through a One Health approach. Building on the achievements of its first edition (2017–2021), the European Union has made an unprecedented commitment to this initiative, intending to establish Europe as a leader in best practices.
Spanning 48 months and beginning on January 1, 2024, the joint action involves over 120 partners from 30 countries, supported by nearly 40 stakeholders. Key European institutions like ECDC and EFSA, along with global organizations such as WHO, WOAH, OECD, UNEP, and FAO, contribute their expertise to align efforts with existing initiatives. Additionally, professionals from human, animal, and environmental health sectors, as well as patient representatives, play a vital role in this collaborative effort.
This project aims to lead the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among countries, institutions, and sectors, to safeguard the effectiveness of antimicrobials and protect public health.
