The Working Group on Medicines was revised in the beginning of 2009. Its tasks are all issues relating to medicines and the availabilty of veterinary medicines in particular. Currently the MRL legislation and the revision of the Medicines Directive 2001/82/EC) as well as the use of antimicrobials and the extension of the list of products for the treatment of (food producing) horses are amongst the most important items the group works on.
