We’re thrilled to share our latest publication, “The Paradox of Availability: A Quantitative Analysis of Veterinary Medicinal Products for Aquaculture in Europe Between 2018 and 2026,”
This study explores the availability of veterinary medicines for finfish across the EU and EFTA, revealing a growing divergence between regulatory authorization and actual market availability. While nominal authorizations have increased, active market availability has decline, creating a “paper market” that masks critical therapeutic gaps in major aquaculture sectors, including seabass, seabream, carp, and trout. The paper highlights the underlying drivers behind these trends and discusses the ongoing challenges for fish health, welfare, and sustainable aquaculture.
