Professor Stuart Reid, Principal of the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) and UK delegate to FVE and Nancy De Briyne, FVE Executive Director, are among those who have received an award from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) this year.

Professor Stuart Reid received the Queen’s Medal, which was approved by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2013 as the highest honour that the RCVS can bestow upon an individual veterinary surgeon, awarded in recognition of someone who has achieved a highly distinguished career with sustained and outstanding achievements throughout.

Nancy de Briyne received the International Award, which is bestowed on veterinary surgeons, nurses or laypeople who have worked internationally, from either within or outside the UK, and have made an outstanding contribution on issues that are in line with the RCVS mission, for example, around raising veterinary standards, veterinary education, improving animal health and welfare, developing leadership, or promoting mental health and welfare.

Massive congratulations to both, without both of you the international veterinary community wouldn’t be the same!
